René and Véronique are the 11th generation of Muré’s to run the domaine. They are driven to produce wines of great richness and intensity while retaining vibrancy and balance. They are aided in this quest by the location of their vineyards in the town of Rouffach. It is in an area of Alsace were ripeness is achieved easily. Only after the grapes and skins have achieved ripeness can you produce stunning wines in the style found at Muré. Fermentation is done slowly and where extreme ripeness is achieved, wines are allowed to finish fermentation with residual sugar. The wines are bottled without fining or filtration. The fruit is picked by hand allowing the whole clusters to be pressed to extract as much flavor as possible and the fermentation takes place in temperature controlled tanks to retain the fruit and freshness.
